Trained locally to respond to both community and regional emergencies, we go where it is unsafe so others can feel safe. Guided by our calling to be the hands and feet of Christ, we bring hope, relief, and compassion to those in need.

MEET THE TEAM
Susie Cockle and her husband, Ron, have been married for 45 years and delight in their two sons, daughters‑in‑law, and eight wonderful grandchildren. Originally from Southern California, they spent several decades in the Midwest before embracing the adventure of becoming Texans. Their family story continues to shape Susie’s deep love for people and her commitment to gospel‑rooted community.
Susie leads the Outreach Team, where she encourages and equips the congregation to share the hope of the Gospel—in word and deed—wherever God has placed them. Her passion for global ministry began early: she lived abroad as a student and served on international teams throughout Europe and the Middle East, primarily in sports and educational ministries. These formative years strengthened her conviction that every person is created in the image of God and fueled her desire for all people to know our personal God personally.
After graduating from seminary, Susie worked at Wheaton College, where she invested in students from around the world. During that season, God impressed Psalm 71:18 on her heart: “Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” This verse became her “why” and continues to guide her steps in Outreach ministry.

Foreign missions have always been a significant part of Matt Hazen’s life. His father served as a missionary in Mexico for many years, and Matt spent his teenage years there, where he fell in love with the people and the culture. He has returned many times since to serve alongside various teams. Through these experiences, God has shown Matt the deep blessings that come from building relationships and loving others.
Stephen, Lauren, and their four kiddos have been members of Redeemer since March 2025. Several years ago they were both convicted of their need to become trained and equipped in evangelism. This led them to sign up for the Ambassador’s Academy with Living Waters Ministries in the summer of 2023. Once there, they spent a week in Los Angeles training on how to share the gospel with all different types of people, and spent days on the beaches and streets of California practicing their new tools. Now feeling equipped to share, they see Waco as a mission field and spend time weekly sharing the good news of Jesus with neighbors, cult members, co-workers, and really anyone who will listen.
Lauren and her husband Stephen have four kids and have been members at Redeemer since March 2025. At her previous church, Lauren served as the liaison for Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center on the Outreach team. Her family was one of the first in Waco to sign on with Together For Good as a host/respite home for children. Today they still serve with Together for Good and Care Net, and love encouraging/exhorting other Christians to start serving in the way God is calling them.
