FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CENTER FOR GOSPEL COMMUNICATION AND REDEEMER WACO?

The CENTER is distinct and yet connected to Redeemer.  The CENTER will be its own non-profit within the walls of Redeemer.

WHO IS THE BUILDING FOR?

The building is for Redeemer and its ministries including the CENTER.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The New Space is estimated to cost $3.2 million, and we’re asking the congregation of Redeemer Waco to raise $1 million.

The New Staff and the CENTER are estimated to cost $5 million and we’re seeking partners from around the country who believe in the vision of Gospel Renewal.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

There is a hierarchy of needs and all money will go towards the most basic first.  To begin with, all money will go towards the new physical building:

(worship hall, offices, lecture halls, classrooms, etc.)

HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE?

THE MAKE ROOM CAMPAIGN is a 3 year plan.

However, some steps will come sooner.

WHAT IF WE DON'T RAISE ENOUGH?

We're not dealing with "if" but "when."  Our current building is at capacity and we need to make room to continue ministering to our congregation.

HOW WILL THE BUILDING HELP ME?

This building will benefit everyone.

  • 1 service to unite our church
  • Kids: New rooms to help student to teacher ratio
  • Youth: New space dedicated to their needs
  • Adults: Strengthen community, more Sunday School classes, room for new friends

WHAT DOES A GOSPEL MOVEMENT MEAN?

When enough people in a given culture are influenced by the gospel, a movement happens to a city and the gospel is felt.  The city rests in Jesus' good news, families are strengthened, community needs are met.

WHY A RACIALLY DIVERSE PASTORAL STAFF?

We believe the church should reflect the culture and Waco is uniquely diverse. We believe this is one of the best ways to promote the flourishing of the city.

CAN'T WE JUST PACK OUT OUR 8:30 SERVICE?

Yes for the short term.  And we have seen significant growth here.  However, most new and future growth will occur in our later services.  Secondly, this only addresses one area of our space limitations.  Our Sunday School rooms, youth rooms, and children's classes still need to be addressed.
